Introduction to the Legal Requirements of Setting Up and Running a Business
Tuesday 3 February, 09:30am - 11:30am (02 hours), Driffield Business Centre
Get informed about your legal responsibilities from day one.
Grow your business with our series of practical, in-person workshops, designed to give you the essential skills and knowledge you need to succeed. These free sessions are open to businesses based in the East Riding of Yorkshire and are held at various locations across the region. Each workshop lasts between 2 to 3 hours and covers vital areas including Marketing, Finance, Legal Compliance, and Business Planning.
This workshop offers a clear overview of the legal framework and compliance issues involved in running a business. From choosing the right legal structure to understanding employer responsibilities, this session will help you stay compliant and confident.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
• Choose the most suitable legal structure for your business
• Identify required insurance, licenses or qualifications
• Understand key Health & Safety obligations
• Learn what’s involved in becoming an employer
• Consider data protection and GDPR compliance
• Understand basic consumer protection, IP and trademarks
• Know what must be included on business documents, websites and marketing materials
