Operational Excellence on the High Street: Safety, Seasonality & Readiness - Trading Smoothly, Safely & Confidently All Year Round
Tuesday 17 March, 13.00pm - 15.30pm (2.5 hours), Beverley Minster
Operational excellence on the high street is about more than systems — it’s about people, preparation and confidence. This hands-on workshop brings together theft prevention, de-escalation and staff confidence with planning for busy periods, seasonal peaks and local events.
Part of the Supporting Hull & East Yorkshire High-Street Businesses series, this session is designed to help businesses move away from reactive firefighting, the session focuses on realistic actions that improve safety, flow and readiness throughout the year.
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
• Understand common theft risks and prevention techniques
• Recognise and respond to challenging situations safely and professionally
• Build staff confidence and consistency during pressure points
• Plan more effectively for seasonal peaks and busy periods
• Improve operational flow to reduce stress and disruption
• Work more confidently with local police and reporting processes
• Identify practical actions to improve safety and readiness year-round
