How to Set Up a Co-Operative or Mutual Organisation

This will be an informal information and guidance session aimed at people who want to explore setting up a Co-operative or Mutual.
Join HEY Growth Hub and CERT CIC as we explore all the aspect of setting up a new Co-Operative or Mutual business organisation.
This will be an informal information and guidance session aimed at people who want to explore setting up a Co-operative or Mutual that will operate for a social purpose.
If you are interested in social enterprise and trading for social good then this session will provide the introduction for you to explore your ideas further around the more specialist co-operative and mutual models available to you. From worker co-operatives to marketing co-operatives and community owned businesses such as your local pub or shop, the session will cover what they are, the different models and their key features and the practical steps on how to set one up.
The webinar will be hosted by Chris Mason, a Director at local social enterprise consultancy CERT CIC.
Photographs will be taken during this session to promote this workshop and the support offered by the Invest East Riding Service of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, HEY Growth Hub, and Invest Hull. These images may be used in social media, in printed and electronic promotion of our services and events and shared with our delivery partners (HEY Growth Hub and Invest Hull) for similar promotional purposes.
The images will be stored electronically on Council networks and may also be securely shared with our partners. All stored images will be reviewed annually to ensure they remain relevant and appropriate. Under the Data Protection Act 2018 / UK GDPR 2018, we require your consent to use your personal image for these purposes. If you do not wish to consent, please advise your Business Support Representative before the session starts.
These images will not be used for anything which may be viewed as negative in tone or that may cause offence, embarrassment, or distress. Images may also be used to validate that the session or support took place under our UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) requirements. These validation images will not be available to the general public but will be retained until at least 2035.
